UK Travel Regulations for Tenerife

Find out everything you need to know about visiting Tenerife from the UK under the current COVID regulations.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
From 4am, Monday 19 July, the  UK Government will no longer recommend against travel to amber list countries.

Children under 18 & people who have been fully vaccinated with a UK NHS vaccine, will not need to quarantine on arrival in England or take a COVID-19 test on day 8.

Arriving in Tenerife from the UK

The Spanish government requires all arrivals to Spain from the UK (excluding children under the age of 12 years old) to present on entry one of the following:

  • Proof of full vaccination, last dose at least 14 days before travel (your NHS certificate) with a vaccine authorised by the European Medicines Agency or by the World Health Organisation
  • OR a negative PCR, TMA, LAMP or NEAR test taken within 48 hours of entering Tenerife. Important: Antigen tests are not currently accepted.

Everyone must also:

  • Complete a pre-travel declaration form before flying (form can be found at www.spth.gob.es )
  • Have 6 months or more left on their passport

Returning to the UK from Tenerife

To fly back to the UK you are required to:

  • Complete a passenger locator form (can be found at www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/spain )
  • Take a COVID test (antigen or PCR) within 72 hours of flying home. (Contact us at info@whatsontenerife.com for your nearest test centre or if you would like us to book it for you.
  • You must take a PCR COVID test on day 2 of returning home
  • If you are not under 18 or fully vaccinated you must take a further PCR test on day 8 & quarantine for 10 days

Children aged 4 and under will continue to be exempt from any travel testing.
Children aged 5 to 10 will only need to do a day 2 PCR
11 to 17 year olds will need to take both a pre-departure test and a day 2 PCR – as is the case for arrivals from green list countries.

Returning to the UK from Tenerife After October 4th 2021- ENGLAND

From 4am on Monday 4th October 2021 the rules for international travel will change. There will be no traffic light system there will only be a red list, the rules for the countries and territories not on the red will all depend on if you have been vaccinated or not.
