How to complete the UK Passenger Locator Form

Before you begin 

Before you complete the passenger locator form you’ll need to book any tests you need to take after you arrive in the UK. You need the reference number to complete the form. 


Who needs to complete the form?

Everyone who is entering the UK must complete the form, unless your job means you are exempt you can check here. If you have children travelling who are under 18 (or under 16 Scotland) there is an option to add them into your form if you are staying at the same address.

What do I need to complete the form? 

  • Your passport details 
  • Your flight details including dates and times 
  • Your address of where you will be staying in the UK 
  • Your vaccination status 
  • The reference number for the tests you will take after landing back in the UK.
  • If you are using the day 5 test to release you will need the name of the test provider you booked with (England Only) 


When can I complete the form? 

You can submit your form within 48 hours of your arrival into the UK. You can start your form before this but you can't submit it before 48 hours.


When do I need to show my form? 

You need to show your form when you check in to travel or board the plane. 

You must present the completed downloaded form. This can either be a printed copy or directly on your phone. It has to be the original, not a screenshot.

What is my information used for?

If someone who was travelling that you could have been in contact develops COVID- 19 symptoms. It is also used to ensure you are following the quarantine rules if applicable. 

Do I need to create an account to submit a form?

 No you don't need to create an account but if you are a frequent traveller then it might be useful as it stores your details for you, saving you time when you travel. If you do create an account your information is stored for 6 months then deleted. 

I've made a mistake and need to change my details. Do I need to start again?

 If any of your details have changed about your travel plans or contact information you need to complete a new form.

I can't upload my vaccine certificate, what should I do?

You can just select no on the passenger locator form and take your certificate with you when you travel, either a printed copy or a download on your phone.
